Eastern Conference Finals Preview: Indiana Pacers vs. Miami Heat
The defending NBA champion Miami Heat have been as advertised throughout the first two rounds of the NBA playoffs losing only one game in the 9 played thus far. The Chicago Bulls proved to be more of a force to be reckoned than anticipated with the shorthanded squad filled with veterans able to win one game and test the defending champs will physical play.
Although the Bulls appeared to give the Heat a run for their money throughout the second round, Miami takes on a new challenge in the Eastern Conference Finals against a proven team with a lockdown defense.
After taking down the New York Knicks in convincing fashion, the Pacers were able to prove to many that they were ready to take the next step. Paul George and company were able to impose their will against the Knicks in the second round with some hardnosed defense and ability to capitalize offensively.
Along with topping the Knicks in convincing fashion and proving the Las Vegas odds correct in terms of advancing to the next round, the Pacers may have the best chance of sending the Heat home empty headed in the postseason while potentially reaching the NBA Finals.
As of right now, the Heat are favored to advance to the Finals for a third straight season. LeBron James and company have proven to be the team in the league once again while imposing their will on their opponents on a nightly basis.
The Heat haven’t received much resistant throughout the season or during the postseason, but may have their work cut out for them against a motivated and determined Pacers squad.
Although the Pacers may put a fight and valiant effort, Miami will come out on top in this series and advance once again in six games.
