NBA Playoffs: New York Knicks @ Boston Celtics Game 4
Game 4: New York Knicks @ Boston Celtics Sun. April 28, 2013 1 p.m. ET
The season may come to an end for the Boston Celtics on Sunday afternoon with the New York Knicks ready to advance to the second round of the NBA playoffs with a win at TD Garden.
Although the Knicks appear to be in complete control of this series and seem to be the best team in the Eastern Conference outside of the defending NBA champion Miami Heat, New York will be without one of their best players with J.R. Smith suspended for elbowing Jason Terry in Game 3.
Coming into the postseason, the consensus in Las Vegas odds was that the Knicks would make easy work of the Celtics in this series. After the first three games, the Knicks have been able to do just that and may be able to pull off the sweep on Sunday in Boston.
Despite the writing being on the wall in terms of the Knicks ultimately advancing to the next round to face either the Indiana Pacers or Atlanta Hawks, New York will be put to the test on Sunday with the Celtics forced into a corner while being desperate to stay alive. There’s no question at this point in time that the Knicks are by far the better all-around team, but Boston has experience in this kind of situations and will likely give the second seeded New York squad a run for their money.
As of right now, the Knicks are favored to pull off the sweep with a -2 1/2 point spread in Las Vegas odds. Although the Celtics will put up a fight and may be able to pull of the upset, I’d go with the Knicks here.
