NBA Betting: Toronto Raptors @ Atlanta Hawks

Toronto Raptors @ Atlanta Hawks Tues. April 16, 2013 8 p.m. ET

The Toronto Raptors will head to Philips Arena on Tuesday night to face-off against the playoff bound Atlanta Hawks on their home floor. Josh Smith and company are attempting to hold onto the fifth seed in the Eastern Conference by keeping the Chicago Bulls at bay.

With something to play for in this game, the Hawks will be giving it their all as they stand to benefit from a win over the Raptors.

As for Toronto, the season is officially for Rudy Gay and company with the team already knocked out of playoff contention in the East. Although no one expected much of anything out of the lowly Raptors in terms of Las Vegas odds before the season began, but Gay and DeMar DeRozan have sparked this team as of late and may be prepared to give the Hawks run for their money on their home floor in Atlanta.

If DeRozan and Gay are locked in on Tuesday, the Hawks may end up falling to the Raptors. Playing at Philips Arena will be beneficial for Atlanta, especially with something to play for, but it will still be a competitive game from start to finish.

Ultimately, the Hawks will come out on top in this game with Atlanta clearly the better all-around team, but the Raptors will make a game of it. With that being said, taking Toronto is the best bet in my opinion with the team likely to make it a close finish.

Prediction: Toronto Raptors +5 1/2

The most intriguing player prop bet to take a chance on in this game is whether or not Kyle Korver will hit his first three-point attempt. I’d roll the dice on this one by taking Korver.
