NBA Betting: Philadelphia 76ers @ Indiana Pacers

Philadelphia 76ers @ Indiana Pacers Weds. April 17, 2013 8 p.m. ET

The Indiana Pacers are locked in at the third seed in the Eastern Conference heading into the regular-season finale against the Philadelphia 76ers at Bankers Life Fieldhouse.

After taking the eventual NBA champion Miami Heat to six games in the NBA playoffs, the Pacers were considered to be a legitimate force to be reckoned with in the East and a potential contender for an NBA title in the conference in Las Vegas odds.

Although the Pacers have been as advertised this season and will be a force once again in the postseason, Indiana will have an uphill battle with the Heat and New York Knicks standing in their way of reaching the NBA Finals.

As for the 76ers, the season will come to an end in disappointing fashion with the team missing the playoffs altogether and an uncertain future ahead. All-Star center Andrew Bynum wasn’t able to play a single game for his new team after being acquired for the Los Angeles Lakers and head coach Doug Collins will resign at season’s end due to an inability to turn things around in the aftermath of the Bynum injury.

With Bynum’s future up in the air and Collins no longer the coach of this team after this season, the future looks bleak for the team moving forward. The 76ers will attempt to put up a fight against the home team Pacers, but will likely fall in fairly convincing fashion.

It’s uncertain at this point if any starters will be on the floor for Indiana, but it’s safe to say the team will likely be starting the second unit.

Despite the Pacers’ backups going up against the 76ers starters, Indiana should still come out on top while covering the 3 1/2 point spread.
