NBA Betting: New York Knicks @ Chicago Bulls

New York Knicks @ Chicago Bulls Thurs. April 11, 2013 8 p.m. ET

The Chicago Bulls will attempt to defend their home floor of the United Center on Thursday night with the New York Knicks coming to town. Chicago will be hoping to hold their ground against New York with the Atlanta Hawks tied in the Eastern Conference.

With a loss to the Knicks, the Bulls will drop to the sixth seed in the conference resulting in a potential first round matchup with the defensive savvy Indiana Pacers. Although the Bulls were given some love in Las Vegas odds to be a difference maker and potential title contender before the season, Chicago simply hasn’t been the same team without superstar Derrick Rose leading the pack.

As for the Knicks, Anthony and company have won 13 straight games coming into this matchup and have been without a doubt the hottest team in the league over the past few weeks. Although the Knicks won’t come close to the Miami Heat’s incredible streak of 28 straight, New York is making a strong case as a legitimate contender in the East and may continue to prove that point with a 14th straight win on Thursday.

Chicago may be a team known for its defensive intensity, but the team will likely fall on their home court in the Windy City. Ironically enough, the Bulls ended the Heat’s incredible streak earlier in the season, but that probably won’t be the case on Thursday night with the Knicks the better all-around team at this point in time with Anthony on fire.

Prediction: New York Knicks -5

A player prop bet to consider is Anthony Over/Under point total. With Anthony red-hot as of late, the superstar may be able to light up the scoreboard once again against the shorthanded Bulls in Chicago.

Prediction: Carmelo Anthony Total Points Over 31 1/2
