NBA Betting: Boston Celtics @ Toronto Raptors

Boston Celtics @ Toronto Raptors Weds. April 17, 2013 8 p.m. ET

The 2012-13 NBA season has been rough for the Boston Celtics. The veteran squad was thought to be a force in the Eastern Conference in Las Vegas despite the aging roster until superstar point guard Rajon Rondo went down with a torn ACL injury requiring season-ending surgery.

Although Rondo is no longer running the point for the Celtics, Boston was still able to clinch   a playoff spot landing in the seventh seed in the East. Despite not being the seed preferred for the veteran squad, Boston is still expected to be a challenge for the second seed New York Knicks in the first round of the NBA playoffs.

Before heading into the postseason in what will almost certainly be the finale of the Kevin Garnett and Paul Pierce era in Boston, the Celtics will face the Raptors on Wednesday night at Air Canada Centre in Toronto.

Despite the Celtics being the better all-around squad and arguably the dark horse in the East, the Raptors have been playing extremely well as of late and will likely give the veteran squad a run for their money on the road. Boston will more than likely rest of the majority or most of their starters in preparation for the upcoming playoff run.

As of right now, the Raptors are favored to get the best of the Celtics in Canada with a -5 1/2 point spread. Toronto will be too much to handle in all aspects of the game on Wednesday night with DeMar DeRozan and Rudy Gay proving to be the difference against the second unit of the Celtics.

Even though the second unit for Boston may prove to be a formidable force on Wednesday, this game will be the Raptors’ to lose with Toronto likely to cruise to victory.

Prediction: Toronto Raptors -5 1/2
