The defending NBA champion Miami Heat have cruised to the top of the Eastern Conference once again this season winning an incredible 62 games coming into their matchup with the arch rival Boston Celtics at AmericanAirlines Arena in Miami.
LeBron James, Dwyane Wade and Chris Bosh have seemingly taken turns getting some much-needed rest leading up the playoffs, but on Friday, the Big 3 will be on the floor to take on the Celtics. Miami is once again the favorites to win it all according to Las Vegas oddsmakers and that stance hasn’t changed all season long with the Heat more than likely on their way to a second consecutive NBA title.
As for the Celtics, Kevin Garnett and company are a shell of the team that once dominated the competition in the East. Although still a scrappy veteran squad that can give some of the best teams in the league a run for their money on any given night, it isn’t the same team that took the Heat to seven games in the Eastern Conference Finals last year.
Despite the Heat’s position in the East and nothing to gain from a win over the Celtics, LeBron and company will still likely cruise to victory over the lowly Boston squad while recording a franchise-record 13th victory. No player on the Celtics can contend with the likes of the Big 3 and will almost certainly fall at the hand of greatness with LeBron leading his teammates to victory once again.
As of right now, the Heat are heavily favored to come out with the win at home with a -12 point spread. Despite the rivalry between these two teams, Boston doesn’t stand much of a chance against a much better team preparing for another title run.
